What you don’t know about flu shots

What you don’t know about flu shots

You can tell that fall is here because all the local pharmacies have huge signs telling you to “GET YOUR FLU SHOT!”

Although most doctors and pharmacies push flu shots as your best protection against the flu, the actual statistics say otherwise.

Let’s take a closer look at what you probably don’t know, but must know, about flu shots.

They’re less effective than vitamin D

Based on a scientific review of 25 randomized controlled trials and reported in Time Magazine, it is estimated that for every 40 flu shots administered, 1 case of the flu is prevented.

That means for the other 39 people, the shot was a waste of money.

On the other hand, for every 33 people taking vitamin D supplements, 1 case of the flu can be prevented.

So vitamin D is 20 percent MORE effective than vaccines at preventing the flu!

And even if the flu is not an issue, vitamin D is at work in your body providing numerous other health benefits, including preventing cancer and heart disease, protecting you against autoimmune diseases like lupus and MS, supporting bone health and preventing depression!

They contain dangerous toxins

Here are toxins typically found in flu shots:

Thimerosal:  This is mercury—the most potent neurotoxin known to man.  Flu shots contain 12.5 mcg of mercury in each .25 mL (one-quarter millimeter) dose—which is 25,000 times the EPA safe limit.  There have been no studies proving the safety of injecting mercury into the human bloodstream.

Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is a documented carcinogen (cancer causing substance) and it can also cause allergic reactions.

Aluminum:  Aluminum is linked to Alzheimer’s disease.  Studies show that people who received 5 or more flu shots during a 10-year period have a 10 times higher risk of Alzheimer’s, compared to those who had fewer than 2 flu shots.

Plus the flu strains themselves are cultivated in animal proteins such as rabbit brain tissue, monkey kidney tissue, pig blood, chicken embryo, embryonic guinea pig cells and calf serum.  There has been no safety testing done to examine the effects of injecting animal DNA into humans.

Also, although flu shots are pushed heavily on pregnant women, no testing has been done proving their safety for use in pregnant women.

Reactions are NOT rare

Adverse reactions are not as rare as some people think.  During 2016, 11,456 adverse reactions to flu shots were reported to VAERS (the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System), and that is estimated to be only 10-20 percent of the actual events, since most go unreported.

So the action number of reactions could be more like 114,000.

Flu shot reactions can include:

  • Encephalitis (brain inflammation)
  • Anaphylaxis (life-threatening allergic reaction)
  • Stevens-Johnson Syndrome—a severe condition where your skin begins to blister and peel off, leaving raw areas. It can eventually lead to dehydration, pneumonia, sepsis and organ failure.
  • Guillain-Barre syndrome—where your body’s immune system attacks your nerves, leading to paralysis.
  • Bell’s palsy (facial paralysis)
  • Convulsions
  • Seizures
  • Syncope (fainting)

So what should you do?

Whether you choose to get a flu shot is up to you, but remember that when it comes to the flu as well as all other illnesses, prevention is the key.

When you support your immune system and let it fight and prevent sickness like it was designed to, it is FAR less likely that you will have to worry about illness to begin with.

Here are four ways you can boost your immune system so it can better protect YOU:

Immune Booster #1: Probiotics

Nothing enhances your immune system like a helpful dose of the same beneficial bacteria that reside in your gut and house about 70 percent of that immune system!

The key is taking a full-spectrum probiotic supplement that has a wide variety of bacteria strains, since each strain has its own “specialty” in terms of how it supports your health.

Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula delivers on that important point!

Super Shield contains 13 well-studied, potent strains of beneficial bacteria, including strains from the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, to help support your overall health and help your immune system to fight colds, flu and many other illnesses.

Immune Booster #2: Vitamin D

In addition to beating flu shots when it comes to effectiveness in preventing the flu, vitamin D is an effective antimicrobial agent--it produces up to 300 different peptides in your body that kill bacteria and viruses!

And when it comes to vitamin D supplementation, nothing beats Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B!

Optimum DK Formula is a highly innovative product that combines the well-documented immune and bone-building support of vitamin D with the unique special assistance of vitamin K, which also supports bone health and has anti-tumor properties too!

Immune Booster #3: Garlic

Garlic is a natural immune system booster.  It stimulates the production of infection-fighting white cells and enhances the efficiency of antibody production.

There's a catch, though: To get the full benefits of garlic, you have to eat it raw.

The easiest way to get some raw garlic in your diet is to crush up a clove into your salad dressing or stir it into olive oil and use as a bread dip.

Immune Booster #4: Reduce stress

Stress causes harmful changes to your gut microbes and impairs your immune functioning.

So if chronic stress is an issue for you, it’s time to do what you must to chill out.  Ask for help if you need it.

To your GREAT health,

Sherry Brescia
