Our fears of spiders, snakes and public speaking don’t even come close to our fear of smelling bad.
Just look at the L-O-N-G aisles in the stores devoted to soaps, body washes, shampoos, lotions and deodorants. In 2018 people in the US spent nearly $90 billion on personal and beauty care products!
While those products may temporarily help cover up body odor, alas, unless you address the underlying causes of your stink, it will return.
Let's look at what’s going on behind the scenes of your stench and how to start smelling sweeter.
Body Odor 101
Your body is masterfully designed with a series of metabolic processes that help keep it clean on the inside.
They include urination, bowel movements, exhaling carbon dioxide and other toxins through your lungs, expelling mucus and dust when you blow your nose or sneeze, and eliminating toxins through your skin when you sweat.
Now you may be wondering, "Well, where are all these toxins inside of me coming from?"
Although things like chemicals, smoking, pollution and medications all add to your internal garbage pile, two of the biggest sources of inner junk are eating processed foods (including fast food) and poor digestion.
Processed food + poor digestion = HBO (horrible body odor)
Your body is made to be nourished by real foods--things like vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy, eggs and healthy fats. It has enzymes that break down each kind of food, it assimilates and absorbs precious nutrients, and any unusable residue is eliminated as your BMs.
But when you instead rely on processed, packaged foods and fast food—in other words, things that are a far cry from anything that occurs in Nature—your body has no clue what to do with them.
It tries to break them down as best it can and absorb whatever paltry vitamins and minerals might be in them, but they mainly end up as smelly wastes that your body has to get rid of.
BO in the making!
Poor digestion is another culprit that makes you smell like you're "smuggling onions."
The typical American meal is a mishmash of every kind of food under the sun and that's about as easy for your system to digest as eating an old shoe.
When your digestion can't be accomplished like it should be, not only does that lead to waste accumulation (and you smelling like Pepe Le Pew), but poorly broken down food molecules can enter your bloodstream, trigger inflammation and make your immune system hypersensitive (this is how food sensitivities are created).
Plus let's not forget the fact that you're likely also suffering from gas, bloating, constipation and heartburn on top of smelling bad. (Pssst: Bad digestion causes bad breath too, in addition to BO.)
How to smell much nicer!
If you want to make it so that you're not clearing out the elevator every time you step on, you have to acknowledge that smelling good on the outside comes from clean insides.
Here are three simple steps you can take to help make your innards squeaky clean and keep you smelling naturally sweet:
1) Get sweating
Sweating during exercise is a TREMENDOUS toxin-releasing process, so if you’re one of those people who doesn’t exercise because you don’t like to sweat, it’s time to get over that now.
I’ve earned the nickname “Sweaty Betty” at the karate dojo where I train, and I’m very happy about that.
Regular exercise will help to clean out those inner toxins and burning up some fat too! So not only will you smell better, your waistline will likely shrink!
Just be sure to get your doctor’s OK, especially if you haven’t exercised in a while or ever.
You can also try infrared sauna to help work up a good cleansing sweat.
2) Drink water
Water helps to flush out wastes and toxins and keep your entire system clean.
Aim to drink at least eight 8-oz. glasses of filtered water a day. And to give your detox system an additional helping hand, add a little fresh-squeezed lemon or lime juice.
This should probably be obvious, but remember that water means water and not sports drinks, energy drinks, soda, coffee or tea.
Just good old WATER.
3) Keep your digestion tip-top
This is by far the most important thing you can do to help put an end to BO for good.
But it’s not as hard as you may think! You just need to pair foods together in your meals that are easier for your system to break down and give your body a little help if needed.
Here’s what you need to know:
1- The food guidance
The Great Taste No Pain system can be your guide as to what you should eat and what you should avoid at all cost!
Great Taste No Pain explains why specific foods and food combinations cause poor digestion and the resulting health problems like IBS, diverticulosis, acid reflux, ulcers...and BO.
It also guides you on how to put together meals that your body can break down much easier, and gives you loads of delicious easy recipes to enjoy. You'll be shocked at how good you can feel (and smell) after eating for a change!
WHAT you eat makes a difference too!
Studies have shown that people who eat more fruits, vegetables, meats and healthy fats have less stinky body odor than people who eat a lot of grains and starchy/sugary carbs.
2- Enzyme help
Your body expends LOTS of enzymes trying to break down processed foods and our typical American meals. Eventually you may reach the point where your body's ability to produce adequate digestive enzymes can be diminished and that can mean deficiencies (and even worse digestion!).
Over the last 50 years increasing numbers of people are suffering from enzyme deficiencies and all the health challenges they cause. This directly correlates with our increasing dependence on processed foods and fast foods.
If you feel your enzymes may be running on the low side, it can make a huge difference in your digestion to give your body a little help with a complete digestive enzyme formula like Digestizol Max.
Digestizol Max contains a carefully selected blend of 15 plant-derived enzymes that will give your body the help it needs to completely and thoroughly break down all of your foods—no matter what you indulge in!
Your days of stinking can be over soon!
You CAN say goodbye to nasty BO for good.
Not by covering it up with sprays, creams and powders, but by attacking it at its REAL cause.
Make yourself cleaner on the inside and you’ll smell a whole lot sweeter on the outside!
To your health,
Sherry Brescia
