Make 2021 the year you end your IBS!

I recently struck up a conversation with a couple of women at a holiday get-together.

When it came up that I’m a nutrition coach, one of the women said, “Oh, that explains why you’re so healthy-looking and thin.  I bet you’ve always been super-healthy, right?”

They were shocked when I said, “Nope—not at all!  Thirty years ago I was suffering big time with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  But that’s all over now.”

One of the women said, “I have IBS and I have been miserable for 20 years!  Can you help me?”

I sure can.

Here’s how—and we’ll start with a discussion about what IBS isn’t.

What IBS isn’t

IBS is not a disease.  Instead it is billed as a “functional disorder” meaning your GI tract is allegedly not “functioning” like it should.

It’s not something you can test for.  Since there is no disease process present, there’s nothing to test.  Instead it is a label given to a series of digestive symptoms when all other things are ruled out.

It’s not IBD (Crohn’s or colitis).  The symptoms can be similar, but Crohn’s and colitis are autoimmune conditions, and IBS is not.

It’s not “just an inconvenience.”  (It used to make me seethe when my former gastroenterologist used to tell me that, “It’s just an inconvenience, Sherry.”)

It’s not an indication that there is something structurally wrong with your digestive system.

It’s not predictable.  You can’t socialize, go out in public, travel or engage in intimacy without worrying about an attack.

And most importantly, it’s not the way you want to live the rest of your life, is it?

Now on to…

What IBS is

IBS is nothing but totally and immensely screwed up digestion.  It’s not glamorous, but that’s the truth.

But don’t fear!  Because there are several specific (and very fixable) reasons why your digestion can get so messed up.

You just need to figure out ALL the factors that are causing YOUR digestion to go out the window and do what you need to do to turn them around!

Once you do that, you will say goodbye to IBS for good.

Now on to…

Why what you’ve tried so far isn’t working

You’ve probably been advised to try several IBS “treatments” and haven’t seen one bit of difference in your condition.

I know.  I was there too.  And I know how frustrating it is.

You think this one might help….and then it doesn’t.  Then you try something else and wait and hope…but it fails you.

So you begin to feel hopeless, don’t you?  Like you’ll never feel better and never have a normal BM.  Feeling good is for someone else, not you.

Let’s look at some of these “treatments,” shall we?

Trigger foods:  Most practitioners will tell you to try to identify “trigger foods”—foods that allegedly trigger your IBS attacks.  Then just avoid those foods.

Easy, right?  Wrong!  Very few people can pinpoint a certain food that triggers their symptoms every single time!

Most times it’s hit or miss—one time a food may “seem” to bother you but the next time it’s fine.

Going gluten-free:  This is another “treatment” that may be helpful for certain people, and completely useless for others.

You can go gluten-free, but if you don’t have a problem or sensitivity with gluten to begin with, it will likely make no difference in your gut aches, bloating like you’re 9 months pregnant or clear-out-the-elevator flatulence.

Plus remember that gluten foods also are refined carbs—which turn to sugar upon digestion, feed harmful bacteria and yeasts in your gut, thereby stirring up gas and bloating.

So many IBS sufferers that think going gluten-free is working for their IBS are actually getting relief due to fewer refined carbs in their diets.

FODMAPS: FODMAPs stands for fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols.

As their description implies, FODMAPs are short-chain carbs (mainly sugars) that are highly fermentable in the gut and can cause gas and bloating in certain individuals.

FODMAPs include things like fruits, honey, dairy, wheat, garlic, onions, legumes and sugar alcohols (like xylitol).

But again, not everyone is highly sensitive to FODMAPs, or some people may be sensitive to only a few of them.

Plus many IBS sufferers are still miserable even when FODMAPs are avoided!

Medications:  Heaven help you if you are given one or more medications!  Because on top of your IBS misery, you will most assuredly suffer some type of side effects.  These can include the following:

  • Long-term use of laxatives can cause your colon to become “lazy” and you can get to the point where you can’t “go” without them! And it’s a long, arduous process to “retrain” your bowel if you do get off laxatives.
  • SSRI antidepressants can cause suicidal thoughts and depression. As if IBS isn’t depressing enough already.
  • Rifaximin can cause diarrhea—the very thing it is intended to treat. How’s that for a kicker?
  • Viberzi (for constipation) can cause potential fatal pancreatic inflammation.

Now here’s what you’ve been waiting for…

How to say goodbye to IBS in 2021!

The key to ending IBS is to support super-efficient digestion, balance your gut microbiome, fight back at SIBO, and ease inflammation in the GI tract.

1- Eat for better digestion

When you look at what the average person eats today, it should be no surprise that IBS is so common.

Considering our typical diets loaded with processed foods, fast food, soda and horribly hard to digest meals, it's easy to see why so many people suffer digestive disaster every day.

But that can be turned around very easily by simply eating for better digestion--like I can guide you to do in the Great Taste No Pain health system!

Great Taste No Pain shows you why specific foods and food combinations cause digestive problems like gas, bloating, constipation and diarrhea—all the classic IBS symptoms! —plus heartburn and acid reflux too.

It's all based on simple chemistry and the way your body digests different foods.

There are also guides that show you how to put together meals that your system can break down MUCH easier, and a collection of delicious recipes to try. You'll be shocked at how great you can feel after eating for a change (and how nice and flat and quiet your stomach can be).

2- Balance your microbiome

Nothing can ruin your digestion faster and easier than harmful bacteria overgrowth (also known as dysbiosis) in your intestinal tract.

You see, the beneficial bacteria in your gut help digest certain carbs and fiber.  So when these microscopic good guys are overcome by harmful bacteria, they can't do their job as well.

As a result, carbs can end up fermenting inside of you instead and...

Your belly blows up like a pan of Jiffy Pop Popcorn!

Having a healthy, easy to digest diet is essential for a well-balanced gut microbiome, but even if you do eat healthy, the bacteria population in your gut can be thrown off by medications, stress, lack of sleep or environmental toxins.

That's why probiotic supplementation is so important to help bring your microbiome into a more health-supporting balance.

And Super Shield Plus multi-strain probiotic formula is up to this vital task!

Super Shield Plus contains 15 of the most feisty, well-studied effective strains of bacteria available.

One of Super Shield Plus’s superstar strains, Lactobacillus gasseri, has been shown to be particularly helpful with IBS.

And its 14 other potent strains will help support a more optimal microbiome balance and pave the way for improved digestion and nutrient absorption.

3- Fight back at SIBO

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is now being recognized as a leading underlying cause of IBS.

SIBO occurs when bacteria that normally colonize in your large intestine “swim upstream” and get into the small intestine.  But the small intestine is not equipped to handle the actions of these “foreigners from below.”

This can impact your absorption of nutrients and stir up gas, bloating and diarrhea—the most common IBS symptoms—plus it can also cause joint pain, fatigue, rashes, eczema, acne, and even depression.

Up until now people with SIBO had only one treatment option—antibiotics—which can further disrupt your already topsy-turvy microbiome and make you vulnerable to recurrences!

Well, things have finally changed for the better because now there’s SIBO Defense Blend!

SIBO Defense Blend provides two of the most effective yet safe antimicrobials found in Nature—oregano oil and garlic extract!

Oregano oil has been shown to be comparable in strength to antibiotics, but the difference is it’s safer and gentler to the friendly bacteria in your intestinal tract!

Garlic has been used since the dawn of time to fight infections and viruses.

And both oregano and garlic are natural anti-inflammatories too!  So in addition to getting things back into a healthier balance in your intestinal tract, they’ll also help soothe the inflammation you likely have going on from SIBO.

4- Get enough Vitamin D

Research shows that 75 percent of people with IBS are low in vitamin D, and about 70 percent report improvement when taking vitamin D supplements!

It’s no wonder when you consider vitamin D’s role in taming inflammatory responses, especially in the gut!

And for the very finest in vitamin D products, look no farther than Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B.

Optimum DK Formula contains a therapeutic dose of 5,000 IUs of vitamin D3, plus its partners vitamin K and the mineral boron, which work together synergistically to help counteract inflammatory actions, encourage strong immune and cardiovascular health and support strong bones too!

Come on over to my world!

I speak with expert authority about IBS…because I suffered from it for over 15 years, and it has been the primary focus of my nutrition practice.

But I have been completely symptom- and medication-free for the last 29 years!

I will never forget the horrible suffering I endured with IBS, as well as the medication side effects, and trust me, life is very SWEET indeed when you can finally close the door on it.

Come on over and join me in the IBS-free world and see how great you can feel.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia
