I would like to thank everyone who came out to see me speak recently at the Trinity Health Conference in Chicago!
I talked with many wonderful women who were truly interested in improving their health, but they just were unsure of where to start.
Plus, others seemed to have been “knocked down” by nay-sayers and had doubts about whether they could make a difference in their health.
If this sounds like you, then I have a very important message for you today.
It’s never too late!
It’s never, ever too late to improve your health, regardless of your age or how long you’ve been sick.
No matter where you’re starting from, your body WILL benefit in some way from a healthier lifestyle--that is a certainty.
Adopting healthier habits can lead to some very exciting unexpected changes like these:
- More regular BMs
- Less heartburn, gas and bloating
- More energy
- Weight loss
- Sleeping more soundly at night
- Fewer aches and pains
- Needing less medication
Don’t listen to the nay-sayers
If anyone around you brings you down and tries to tell you that you can’t make a difference in your health, or you’re not good enough or strong enough or smart enough, kindly look them in the eye and say, “You couldn’t be more wrong.”
And then prove them wrong.
I remember someone once told me that my running stride was no good. (Mind you, this person had probably never run more than 3 miles in their life.)
A few years later that “sub-par” running stride of mine carried me for 26.2 miles in my very first marathon….and continues to do so!
I just completed my third marathon this past Sunday at age 56! (Here I am just after I crossed the finish line.)
Sure glad I didn’t listen to my critic.
Refuse to make excuses
If you allow excuses to enter your mind, you’re done before you start. There is no room for excuses when it comes to improving your health.
I once heard a great quote about excuses:
We make time for the things that we want to make time for, and excuses for everything else.
Make the time for you and your health.
Your 3-step plan to better health at any age!
If you’re ready to make a significant difference in your state of health, here is a very effective 3-step plan that will help turn things around for you.
1- Nourish your body and support sound digestion
The single most disease-preventing, health-enhancing and life-saving measure you can take is having a nutritious diet of real foods.
If you eat a typical "modern diet" of processed food, fast food or refined carbs, you can count on being sick--it's a given.
Plus, if you have poor digestion, you are opening the door for inflammation-causing wastes to accumulate in your system and make you toxic.
Diseases love a nice, toxic body--they thrive in that environment. This is especially true of cancer.
So, it’s essential to eat the foods that give your body the nutrients it needs to fight disease, and encourage proper elimination of wastes.
Concentrate on real foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry and fish, eggs, nuts, healthy fats and pure filtered water.
And make your meals easier for your body to break down too! The key lies in what foods you eat together—certain meal combinations are a breeze for your system to tackle, and others are a nightmare!
My Great Taste No Pain system can guide you on exactly what to do.
Great Taste No Pain teaches you the few simple principles you'll need to know to make all of your meals tasty, super nutritious and much easier to digest.
When your body is armed with the nutrients it needs, it can better heal itself and fight disease.
And when your digestion is efficient, you can eliminate toxins, viruses and harmful bacteria like you should, instead of having them be absorbed into circulation and making you sick.
2- Support your immune system
The habits many people have are murder on their immune systems.
Things like junk food, soda, smoking, not getting enough sleep, stress and taking medications all destroy your gut microbiome...
...and since this is where 80 percent of your immune system resides, you may be lacking the protection of the bulk of that immune system!
But a full-spectrum, multi-strain probiotic like Super Shield can help turn that around for you.
Super Shield contains 13 strains of the world's most potent, effective beneficial bacteria found in the human digestive tract. These good guys line the walls of your intestines like an army, ready to fight off dangerous invaders.
They also compete with harmful bacteria for "parking spaces" on your gut wall, crowding them out and depriving them of nutrients.
Plus Super Shield supports sound digestion and regular BMs...which can mean less gas, bloating, and constipation too!
3- Move your butt
I know. Exercise is a dirty word to a lot of people. But there’s no getting around it—you just can’t replace its health benefits in any other way!
Here are just some of the ways exercise transforms your health:
- Weight management: Regular physical activity helps to increase muscle mass and decrease body fat.
- Decreased heart disease risk: Physical activity strengthens heart muscles, lowers resting heart rate and blood pressure, and improves blood lipids.
- Reduced cancer risk: Being overweight increases a person's risk of cancer, so physical activity can help reduce cancer risk by reducing weight.
- Decreased back pain: Exercise can increase muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and posture.
- Lower risk of type 2 diabetes: Regular physical activity can lead to decreases in blood glucose and insulin resistance.
- Healthy bones: Physical activity encourages bone formation and slows the progression of bone loss.
- Enhanced sleep quality: Regular exercise is a natural stress reducer, it improves mood and encourages more restful sleep.
Remember to get your doctor’s OK (especially if you haven’t moved in quite some time) and get moving.
You CAN make a difference--it's never too late
If you are sick, have a disease, are overweight, take multiple medications or all of the above, know this:
You can make a difference and help stop disease from taking its toll on you.
It's never too late to help your body develop better health from within.
Give your body the help it needs to give YOU a life free of pain, disease and an endless sea of medications.
To your health,
Sherry Brescia
Thanx for sharing this blog.
Health, good or bad, is too often something that happens TO people. This article offers an alternative way to view health, as either static or earned. In the former case, medical interventions play a key role for better or worse; in the latter, it’s all your doing.

Hello Urban! We always recommend purchasing organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible. You can keep your non-refrigerated produce in a paper bag for a few days (while it ripens) before eating it. Sherry has recommended that if you’re going to eat the outside of the fruit (berries, for example) buy organic if you can. If you’re not going to eat the outside of the fruit (oranges for example) then you may be in a better position to avoid pesticides. We hope this helps!
Hi Noel! Not everyone experiences digestive distress when FODMAPS are
consumed.
Different people have varying levels of tolerance. Many IBS sufferers can consume some or most
foods that are high in FODMAPS with no problem. For others, certain FODMAPS may be problematic
while others are perfectly fine. In addition, quantity and volume also play a role. For example, someone who is sensitive to
FODMAPS will be far more likely to experience symptoms after eating a bowl full of pasta than a small
dab of honey in their tea. Remember that not everyone is sensitive to FODMAPS, and for many people, they are
merely sensitive to only certain foods—not the entire list. If you want to try an elimination diet, or just simply avoid FODMAPS as much as possible, it’s crucial
to know which foods are high in FODMAPS versus which are low.
Sherry has a FODMAPS report that we can send via email. If you’d like a copy, please email us at support@holisticblends.com and ask.
We hope this helps!
