Are you a likely target for cancer? How to tell

A very dear friend of mine from college was just diagnosed with cancer.

We had been keeping in touch over the last 10 years or so, thanks to social media.

I had noticed that several of her Facebook posts were recipes for rich desserts and other sweets…and I’ve got to tell you, I’ve been troubled about that for some time.  I knew she was overweight and had been warned that her blood glucose levels were elevated.

I made sure to tell her what I do for a living and offered to consult with her if she needed some dietary guidance, especially with respect to her borderline diabetes and her weight.

She thanked me and said she was “going to try to eat better,” and would let me know if she needed my help.  I just shook my head because I knew I was getting nowhere with her.  As they say, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.

But I didn’t see this coming.

Now she’s fighting for her life and wondering what she could have done.

I’m writing about my friend today because I don’t want her fate to be yours.

I want to help YOU keep cancer far away from you and your loved ones.

Here’s how.

Home sweet home

Cancer is not the mystery it’s made out to be.  On the contrary, it is rather predictable and looks to make its “home” in people who fit one or more of these criteria:

1- An acidic body environment

Cancer LOVES an acidic environment, but it cannot survive in an alkaline environment.  This has been proven in labs time and again.

So, your body’s pH (how acid or alkaline you are) is a significant factor behind whether or not you will face cancer, and if you do, whether you are successful in beating it.

By design our bodies are meant to have a slightly alkaline blood pH—about 7.365.  Unfortunately, many of us are dipping toward the acid range and that increases your susceptibility to cancer (as well as other chronic, inflammatory diseases).

Factors are all around you that increase the acidity in your blood including:

  • Processed and fast foods
  • Medication residue
  • Eating a lot of highly acid foods (meats, poultry, dairy, eggs and grains) without a counterbalance of alkaline foods (fresh vegetables and greens)
  • Poor digestion
  • Coffee, alcohol and soda

2- A diet high in sugar and refined carbs

Having a diet high in sugar and refined carbs (which turn to sugar upon digestion) is a double-edged sword.

First of all, sugar feeds cancer, so the more of it you have in your system, the more you are nourishing cancer cells.

Plus, sugar depresses your immune system functioning, and your immune system protects you against cancer!  So when your immune system is compromised by sugar, cancer has a better chance to thrive.

3- Lacking essential nutrients

Cancer is delighted when you are lacking nutrients, especially these three:

Vitamin C: Vitamin C is crucial to proper immune function; it helps kill cancer cells and it even makes chemotherapy more effective.

Vitamin D:  Vitamin D has been proven to be an important player in protecting your body against several cancers.

Omega-3 essential fatty acids:  The Omega-3 fat Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) has been shown in studies to help inhibit the growth of certain cancers.

4- Toxins in your body

Our bodies are inundated with toxins that are either carcinogenic in and of themselves, or pollute your body to the point where your cells and organs of detox can’t work properly.

Common sources of toxic exposure include:

  • Heavy metals (mercury, aluminum, lead, cadmium and arsenic) in the environment, cigarette smoke, amalgam dental fillings and vaccines
  • Contaminated water—our water supplies have been shown to contain fluoride, chlorine and even medications like pain killers and antidepressants
  • Herbicides and pesticides (especially glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup)
  • Nitrates and nitrites in processed meats
  • Antibiotics and hormones from animals raised for our meat supply

Let’s get going with prevention!

Now that you know what cancer finds attractive for a home, here is how you can help prevent it:

1)  Eat nutritious alkaline foods & keep digestion efficient

This is extremely important—your body must have the nutrients it needs, fiber to help eliminate toxins, a proper balance of alkaline foods to buffer the acidity in your body, and of course tip-top digestion.

And the Great Taste No Pain health system can give you the guidance you need!

Great Taste No Pain teaches you how to pair foods together in your meals to support better digestion.

Not only will this help encourage regular bowel movements, but it can also help curb other digestive problems like acid reflux, gas, bloating and constipation.

Great Taste No Pain also spells out which foods are acidic and which are alkaline, to help you eat for a healthier pH.

Plus, the dishes in the recipe section are so delicious, you will fall in love with healthy, nutritious foods and happily say goodbye to toxic, chemical-loaded packaged foods for good.

2) Drink pure water

Water is essential for creating urine and keeping your bowels running smoothly so your body can eliminate toxins.

Eight glasses of filtered water a day should be your minimum.  Avoid drinking tap water at all costs.

3) Get enough vitamin C, vitamin D and Omega-3 essential fatty acids

Vitamin C is easy to get in your diet—tomatoes, bell peppers, citrus fruits, strawberries, kale, broccoli and Brussels sprouts are all great sources.

Vitamin D and Omega-3 EFAs are trickier.  Food sources of vitamin D are limited, and the average person doesn’t spend enough unprotected time in the sun for their body to consistently make vitamin D.

In addition, the richest food source of Omega-3 fats is fish, and that’s not something most people eat 7 days a week.

To ensure that you have health-supporting, disease-fighting levels of these nutrient superstars, Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B and VitalMega-3 fish oil formula are your tickets!

Optimum DK Formula gives your body an impressive 5,000 IU boost of vitamin D3, and VitalMega-3 provides 1,200 mg of inflammation-fighting Omega-3 fats, including the cancer-protective EPA!

4) Get sweating

Your skin is a primary organ of detox and the more you sweat, the cleaner you are on the inside!

Regular exercise is key here (after getting your doctor’s OK).

Also, try infrared saunas as well.

5) Choose organic meats

The only way you can be assured of getting meat from animals that have not been treated with antibiotics and hormones, and that have not been fed GMO feed and/or grains that are laced with glyphosate is to choose organic.

And stay away from processed meats preserved with nitrates.  If you love bacon, look for organic, nitrate-free varieties.

6) Support a healthy gut environment

Your immune system protects you against cancer, and most of that immune system resides in your gut.  So truly, the gut is where it’s at in terms of cancer prevention!

Daily supplementation with a full-spectrum probiotic formula like Super Shield will help ensure that you have a health-supporting population of friendly bacteria in your microbiome that will encourage your immune system to stay sharp and strong.

Now you are on a sound path to preventing cancer and paving the way for optimal health!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

  • Sherry my husband had an Atrial flutter last year when he had a bone infection. He no longer has an atrial flutter. Does he have to be on anticoaglents still?

  • Sherri, you said to avoid tap water at all costs. Is it ok to drink tap water once it has gone through a Brita water filter? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks
