Here we go again. A few hundred cases of measles have become a “public health emergency,” blasting the headlines everywhere, frightening the masses and inducing hysteria.
And in this case also attempting to coerce people into vaccinating against measles by threatening fines and imprisonment in Rockland County, NY and in certain zip codes in Brooklyn, NY.
As usual, most of the government health authorities and the media are pointing at non-vaccinated individuals and claiming they are responsible for this latest “epidemic.”
But when you look at the facts and not the hype, you see a completely different story.
Let’s start by looking at…
The history of the measles
I was born in 1962, had the measles as a kid and—amazingly—lived to tell about it.
So did most kids from about 1955 on, because deaths from the measles by that point were practically non-existent thanks to measures like improved hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, labor laws, electricity and refrigeration.
Although the medical community and the pharmaceutical industry like to give the vaccine credit for reducing measles deaths, that’s not accurate.
Here is a graph from the US Department of Vital Statistics showing the death rate from measles was basically zero PRIOR TO the introduction of the vaccine in 1963.
Vitamins A and C also contributed to reduced death rates and were shown to be very effective at fighting the measles.
Following its discovery in the 1920s, vitamin A was dubbed “the anti-infective” vitamin because it had such an impact on measles deaths—during the 1920’s the death rate had peaked at 11 kids per 100,000, but by 1940 had dropped to less than one in 100,000.
In addition, experiments done in the 1940s showed that vitamin C was effective against measles, and during that time the death rates from both measles and the vitamin C-deficiency disease scurvy had shown dramatic declines.
So why do we have outbreaks?
Measles outbreaks occur because, contrary to popular belief, measles never actually went away!
Like other viruses, measles has natural cyclical increases and decreases every few years.
And resurgences occur even in highly vaccinated populations because the vaccine does not provide lifelong immunity like natural infection does.
In addition, individuals recently vaccinated with MMR can get the measles and/or shed the measles virus in the vaccine to others.
But isn’t it DEADLY?
According to the Mayo Clinic, the primary symptoms of the measles are: Fever, dry cough, runny nose, sore throat, eye inflammation, tiny white spots inside the mouth and a skin rash.
Does that sound deadly to you?
Measles was even the subject of an episode of the TV program “The Brady Bunch” back in the early 1970s. The Brady kids came down with the measles and were thrilled because they got to stay home from school and play board games.
It was also featured in the comedy cartoon “The Flintstones”—Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble had to stay home from a cooking contest because they got the measles, so Fred and Barney dressed as women and took their places!
On very rare occasions measles can develop into bronchitis or pneumonia, but that’s typically only in people with already compromised states of health.
Now, here are some recent statistics that you may find interesting:
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) there has been ONE measles-associated death in the US in the last 15 years.
However, there have been 79,580 adverse reactions reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) related to the MMR vaccine as of March 2019, of which 153 resulted in death.
Where’s the real epidemic here?
Plus keep in mind that it is estimated that 10 percent or less of adverse reactions get reported to VAERS, so those numbers might actually be 795,800 reactions and 1,530 deaths.
Do you know what’s in the MMR vaccine?
This is a question that is rarely asked, but it’s important to know the complete truth about a medical procedure that is not only vehemently recommended but is starting to be forced on people.
Here are the ingredients of the MMR II vaccine: (You can see the entire package insert at fda.gov.)
Each 0.5 mL dose contains not less than 1,000 TCID50 (tissue culture infectious doses) of measles virus; 12,500 TCID50 of mumps virus; and 1,000 TCID50 of rubella virus. Each dose of the vaccine is calculated to contain sorbitol (14.5 mg), sodium phosphate, sucrose (1.9 mg), sodium chloride, hydrolyzed gelatin (14.5 mg), recombinant human albumin (≤0.3 mg), fetal bovine serum (<1 ppm), other buffer and media ingredients and approximately 25 mcg of neomycin.
Let me enlighten you on some of those ingredients, NONE of which have been proven safe to inject into children:
Sorbitol: Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol typically prescribed as an oral laxative or enema solution to treat constipation.
Sodium phosphate: Sodium phosphate is a laxative and is used in adults to empty the colon before a colonoscopy. Sodium phosphate can cause serious kidney damage and possibly death.
Hydrolyzed gelatin: Hydrolyzed gelatin (also known as hydrolyzed collagen) is a substance that is derived from animal bone and cartilage.
Fetal bovine serum: Fetal bovine serum is produced from blood collected at slaughterhouses.
Recombinant human albumin: Human albumin is a blood plasma protein derived from aborted human fetuses. BTW, the safety of injecting another fetus’ DNA into a child has never been studied or proven.
Neomycin: Neomycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections in the intestines. Neomycin may cause permanent hearing loss, nerve damage, and severe kidney damage.
But wait! There are side effects too!
Here is just a partial list of the side effects of the MMR II vaccine:
- Body as a Whole: Atypical measles; fever; syncope; headache; dizziness; malaise; irritability.
- Digestive System: Pancreatitis; diarrhea; vomiting; nausea.
- Endocrine System: Diabetes mellitus.
- Immune System: Anaphylaxis and anaphylactoid reactions.
- Musculoskeletal System: Arthritis; arthralgia; myalgia.
- Nervous System: Encephalitis; encephalopathy; measles inclusion body encephalitis (MIBE); Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS); febrile convulsions; afebrile convulsions or seizures.
- Respiratory System: Pneumonia; pneumonitis; sore throat; cough; rhinitis.
- Special Senses — Ear: Nerve deafness; otitis media.
- Other: Death
A smart approach—prevention
As I mentioned above, vitamins A and C are VERY effective at treating the measles, along with rest, fluids and using a humidifier.
But generally speaking, when it comes to any kind of virus or infection, prevention is always best!
So, make sure to beef up your immune system in these 5 helpful ways:
1- Limit sugar and refined carbs
These feed harmful yeasts and bacteria in your microbiome, which in turn can hamper your immune system function.
2- De-stress and get some rest
Both stress and lacking sleep cause harmful changes to your microbiome and make it less effective at protecting you.
3- Get nutritional support with probiotics and a multi-vitamin
Since most of your immune system resides in your gut, it's essential to make sure that you have a healthy population of beneficial gut bacteria to support it!
Supplementation with a full-spectrum probiotic like Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula is the single most effective step you can take to encourage a healthy intestinal flora balance and strong immune function.
And a complete multi-vitamin formula like Super Core can help ensure your body has healthful levels of measles-fighting vitamins A and C, as well as a wide variety of other essential vitamins, minerals and even natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatories!
4- Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Water is vital for cell and lymphatic system health—both of which are crucial to proper immune system functioning.
5- Nourish your gut
Be sure to include lots of fresh vegetables, nuts and fermented foods (like sauerkraut and kimchi) in your diet. Nothing nourishes your gut microbiome better than these nutritious foods!
Now you know the truth versus the hype about the measles and how to protect against viruses of all kinds.
To your health,
Sherry Brescia
The information in our articles are NOT intended to replace a one-on-one relationship with a qualified health care professional and are not intended as medical advice.
It is appalling to me how the public so quickly reacts with fear instead of doing their due diligence to educate themselves to make an informed decision. It appears Big Pharma and the CDC have made immunizations a business which neglects to protect and give truthful information to the public. Tell me when is it that we get numerous diseases at the same time via the blood stream filled with toxic levels of heavy metals and such. Perhaps people ought to question If the immunizations for measles worked then why so many outbreaks before condemning those who choose not to immunize or change the schedule? My fear is that this country has turned into a fascist medical state where the herds of people comply rather than see that this is a civil rights issue. Mandating treatments done to our bodies is certainly in that territory. It is also not an issue of right or wrong per se but rather allowing an individual to make an informed decision.
I don’t understand all the panic. If you’re someone that vaccinates then you supposedly have nothing to worry about…unless you’re of course that’s not exactly true and big pharmaceutical companies are feeding you something just short of the truth. Wouldn’t be the first time or the last.
Thank you for this excellent information regarding the “measles scare”. I will pass it on to my young friend with a 5 year old daughter.
Then I will ask a question for myself. (I have your book “Great Taste No Pain” and have purchased from you in the past.
My family doctor suggested that I get a Pneumonia Injection. (I am almost 82, have NOT gotten the flu shot for many years, after learning about the bad stuff included in it).
I believe I had the penumonia shot maybe 10 years ago but it’s time for another. What is your opinion? Maybe the vitamins you mention re measles injection would be the same for pneumonia. Thank you very much.
how much of the fermented foods such as sauerkraut be eaten daily. I eat about 1 tbsp.
for breakfast with my avocado and eggs. Should I eat more during the day with other foods?
thanks,
