5 Sherry Brescia-isms and 1 exciting announcement

(Labor Day Sale continues! $10 off Super Shield)

I have a little secret to share with you this morning.

I turned 60 years old on Tuesday, August 30th!

While the thought of turning 60 may scare some people, it didn’t bother me at all!  But that’s largely because I’ve consistently worked toward good health for my entire adult life, and I feel great!

That includes eating healthy, supplementing as necessary, working out regularly and keeping stress low—you know, all the things I tell YOU to do!

I know I may sound like a broken record at times, but at least you know I walk my talk!

So as part of my celebration of six decades, I thought I would do something a bit different for the blog today and share with you 5 important bits of advice—I like to call them my “Sherry Brescia-isms.”

5 Top Sherry Brescia-isms

“If you don’t know what an ingredient on a food package is, trust me, neither does your body.”

Your body was meant to eat real food—not processed stuff that does not nourish you and does nothing but make you overweight and toxic.

Real food includes items provided through Nature—meat, poultry, eggs, fresh vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds, real butter and other healthy fats (like coconut oil and olive oil).

Another way to say this is to quote the late, great Jack LaLanne:  If man made it, don’t eat it.

“No supplement in the world can be a replacement for a healthy diet, or undo the effects of a poor diet.”

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve heard someone say something like, “Yeah, I don’t eat really good, but I take a vitamin every day.”

What’s your point?

Supplements are designed to be taken in addition to a healthy diet, to help ensure you are maintaining optimal levels of all essential nutrients.

They are not a green light to eat like crap and fool yourself into thinking that little tablet or capsule has you covered.

Not even close.

“No amount of exercise will negate the effects of a poor diet.”

Exercise is an incredible boost to your health, but that doesn’t give you a free pass when it comes to solid nutrition.  You’ve got to have both.

An unhealthy, processed diet will come back to bite you no matter how much exercise you do.  Most diseases have their roots in one or more nutrient deficiencies.

And keep in mind that if you’re not getting crucial nutrients, that will start to put a damper on your workouts and level of energy too.

“Digestion is key.  I don’t care if you’re eating the best foods in the world—if your digestion is poor, you are not getting the maximum benefit from your foods, and are probably pretty toxic to boot.”

Sound digestion is vital to good health and a disease-free existence.

Digestion is your body’s mechanism for getting nutrients and eliminating wastes, and if you’re lacking in either of those, it’s not a matter of if but merely when will disease come knocking on your door.

Plus keep in mind, lacking nutrients creates feelings of hunger, so if your digestion is poor, you stand a good chance of being overweight too.

Lastly, 80 percent of your immune system resides in your gut.  So, if things are not going along very well down there, that can weaken your immune function too.

(Note that your gut microbiome has a big impact on your digestion and nutrients absorption, so if yours is in need of a helping hand, now is the time to get some Super Shield because it is $10 off!)

“It’s never too late to improve your health.”

This is a BIG one.

Countless people I have consulted feel they are too far gone or it’s too late for them to improve their health.

Nothing could be farther from the truth!

Taking steps, even baby steps, to improve your health will ALWAYS have a positive benefit!

It’s not too late, you are not too far gone, and don’t listen to the nay-sayers.

Do it for you.

So, there you have it!  My 5 top Sherry Brescia-isms.

And now for an exciting announcement:

Effective today, September 1, 2022, I have opened a new location, working alongside the office of Dr. Yale Smith in Melbourne, FL, providing in-person nutritional consulting services to residents in the Melbourne area and surrounding communities.

So, if you are local to Melbourne (also including Rockledge, Palm Bay, Viera, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Indialantic, Satellite Beach and Cape Canaveral) and would like to come by and meet with me in person, I would love to see you!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia
